Inside Amy Schumer wins first Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Sketch TV Series

Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer won the inaugural prize at the Emmy Awards in 2015 for the newly created category, Variety Sketch Series, where it was nominated alongside Drunk History, Portlandia, Key & Peele and Saturday Night Live.

The series already had won one Emmy Award at last week’s Creative Emmy Awards ceremony for outstanding original music and lyrics for its third-season music video, “Girl You Don’t Need Makeup.”

But this Emmy win was so sweet for Schumer and company, capping what has been a magical year for the comedian.

“I’m so proud, and this show fights for what we believe in,” Schumer said.
