Amy Schumer opens for, twerks for Madonna at MSG; will headline own stand-up arena show in June 2016

Amy Schumer closed her first of three opening sets with Madonna on Wednesday night by announcing that Schumer would headline her own comedy show at Madison Square Garden in June 2016.

“Who better to open for Madonna than me? The answer: literally, any band,” Schumer joked Wednesday.

She’ll also open for Madonna at MSG on Thursday, then at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Saturday.

Madonna later brought Schumer onstage to dance with and for her during her performance of “Unapologetic Bitch.”

That’d be today at noon now. Here’s the link to buy Amy Schumer tickets at Madison Square Garden for June 23, 2016.

The next stand-up comedian to hit MSG solo will be Bill Burr in November during the New York Comedy Festival. Jim Gaffigan will play the Garden in December. Schumer will become the 13th stand-up comedian to achieve the feat of headlining a solo stand-up gig at Madison Square Garden. The others? Steve Martin, Andrew Dice Clay, Dane Cook, Chris Rock, Eddie Izzard, Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari, Russell Peters, Louis CK and Gabriel Iglesias.
