SAG-AFTRA rescinds “Do Not Work” order, allows comedians to work on “Comedians of LA” and “Living with Funny”

SAG-AFTRA posted this notice over the weekend:

Attention all members: SAG-AFTRA has rescinded its “no contract/no work” order regarding the series Comedians of LA and Living with Funny.

SAG-AFTRA has signed a collective bargaining agreement with the production company Comedians of LA Productions to cover Comedians of LA and SAG-AFTRA is not asserting jurisdiction of Living with Funny.

The no-work action had lasted since April.

L. Plummer Media had announced intentions to film two reality shows simultaneously for two different cable channels: Comedians of LA for Esquire Network and Living With Funny for the Oxygen Network. The Esquire show follows several male comedians; Oxygen’s focuses the lens on the wives and girlfriends of the comedians.

Brandon T. Jackson was the first comedian attached to the project, attending the formal announcement at Esquire and Oxygen’s Upfronts in March. No other cast members had been announced officially before SAG-AFTRA’s CBA signing with the production company.
