2015 Primetime Emmy comedy nominees

The nominees for 2015’s Primetime Emmy Awards were revealed Thursday, and there’s plenty of honors and kudos to go around — from broadcast networks to cable channels to streaming online sites, everyone found something to be happy about.

Even amid the snubs.

But first, the congratulations! Twenty-five nominations for Comedy Central. Eight just for Saturday Night Live, boosted by its SNL40 primetime special in February. Transparent, on Amazon.com, led all comedies with 11 nominations, even if you quibble over the comedic content on that show it’s great. Funny or Die earned nominations via webseries, TV series and game show. Louis CK now has 35 nominations in his history, adding nods for his TV series on FX, hosting SNL and also putting out a stand-up special via his website.

The finale segments for Letterman and Colbert each received recognition. Bob Odenkirk is up for best actor in a drama!

Comedy series that can boast at least one Emmy nomination somewhere include: The Big Bang Theory, Black-ish, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Comedians, The Comeback, Community, Episodes, Getting On, Girls, Glee, Grace and Frankie, House of Lies, Hot in Cleveland, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Jane the Virgin, The Last Man on Earth, Louie, Mike & Molly, The Mindy Project, Modern Family, Mom, Nurse Jackie, Parks and Recreation, Shameless, Silicon Valley, 2 Broke Girls, Transparent, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Veep.

All of this year’s Emmy nominees can be found on the Emmys site. Winners announced Sept. 20, 2015, on FOX, hosted by Andy Samberg.
