First look at “I Am Chris Farley” documentary

Here’s your first look at the new documentary, I Am Chris Farley, which opens in select movie theaters across America at the end of July. (Trailer via Buzzfeed)

I Am Chris Farley, directed by Brent Hodge (A Brony Tale) and Derik Murray (I Am Evel Knievel, I Am Steve McQueen, I Am Bruce Lee), will open in theaters July 31 in Chicago, LA, NYC, Austin, Philadelphia, Phoenix and San Francisco. SPIKE TV holds the broadcast premiere on Aug. 10 — the following day, Aug. 11, you also can see it on VOD, digital download, and DVD.

The documentary traces his big, bold humorous life from his youth in Wisconsin, through Marquette University, the Second City, Saturday Night Live and onto the big screen in films such as Tommy Boy and Black Sheep. Among those interviewed on camera: Christina Applegate, Tom Arnold, Dan Aykroyd, Bo Derek, Pat Finn, Jon Lovitz, Lorne Michaels, Jay Mohr, Mike Myers, Bob Odenkirk, Bob Saget, Adam Sandler, Will Sasso, Molly Shannon, David Spade, Brian Stack and Fred Wolf, and surviving family members including his brothers Kevin, Tom Jr. and Johnny, and sister Barbara.
