Marc Maron to interview President Barack Obama for WTF podcast

“Brace yourselves. Are you sitting down? OK. Alright. Now take a breath. If everything goes as planned, on Monday, I will post a WTF — an episode of this show that you’re listening to now featuring myself in conversation with, talking to, at my home in my garage — me talking to the president of the United States, Barack Obama. That is what’s happening Monday.”

— Marc Maron, opening his WTF podcast episode released today, which features an interview with Judd Apatow.

The interview with Obama is scheduled for Friday at Maron’s home in California.

“What am I doing in terms of planning? Good question, Marc,” he said.

“I want to do a WTF interview. I haven’t done political talk radio in years!”

We’ll see how the conversation turns out when we listen to it on Monday.

Meanwhile, Maron wondered: “Oh my God, I hope my bathroom’s clean. I should probably clean my house a little. Prep the cats somehow.”

The episode will be presented without commercial interruption courtesy of Squarespace.com and will be available beginning Monday, June 22 on iTunes,WTFPOD.com, and on mobile devices via the WTF With Marc Maron app.

  1. I wonder if he’ll bring up his Air America days and the fraught nature of “carrying water” on Political radio. Would rather the more humanist side of WTF though.
