Fuse orders Gabriel Iglesias and friends tour series: Fluffy Breaks Even!

Fuse is getting into the Fluffy Guy business for years to come, with a tour-based comedy series starting production today in Las Vegas with Gabriel Iglesias and his friends, plus a multi-year partnership for more series and specials.

“Gabriel is the perfect example of the type of talent that is part of Fuse’s new goal of representing New Young America – the young millennial tastemakers and trendsetters who are revolutionizing today’s culture and whose influence is evident on and offline,” said Fuse President Bill Hilary. “Like our other partners, including the iconic Jennifer Lopez, Iglesias is one of the biggest and most important entertainers in America today.”

Fluffy Breaks Even! is the working title of the six-episode half-hour series that’ll premiere on Fuse in October.

It follows Iglesias on tour with comedians Martin Moreno and Rick Gutierrez “as they travel to new cities, meet fans and attempt the impossible – balancing big meals with big workouts!” The series description notes that the “breaking even” in the title refers to how they balance their meals with their exercise.

Not exactly Tourgasm. Nevertheless.

“I’m really excited about this new series with my long time comedy friends Martin and Rick,” Iglesias said. “It incorporates all of my favorite things – stand-up, food and my FANS – with one of my least favorite things: exercise. Fuse is the perfect place for my series and I can’t wait to share it with everyone!”

His deal with Fuse also has Iglesias executive producing three one-hour comedy specials for the network, and at least one additional series, currently in development.

In March, Fuse had announced Hey! It’s Fluffy, an animated series about the comedian’s childhood years.

The production for Fluffy Breaks Even! begins by joining his tour in progress this weekend at the Mirage in Las Vegas. Next week, he’s scheduled to jet off to Europe with dates in Iceland, Sweden and Norway — which should provide potentially interesting challenges to his and his friends diet-and-exercise routines. You can see where Iglesias is performing next on his tour page.
