Adam Sandler’s musical tribute to David Letterman

Take a few minutes today to appreciate not only David Letterman, but also Adam Sandler. But aside whatever you might think of Sandler’s current movie in production, and remember his overall contributions to comedy, as he steps back and writes and performs a song to celebrate Letterman’s overall contributions to comedy.

“If you like gap-toothed men in double-breasted suits, he’s number one on your Top 10 list!”

That’s one lyric. There are a few others that poke fun at the other guys in late-night TV throughout the years, and a few others still that are slightly unsafe for work.

“OK, mom, I told him. I hope you’re happy!” Sandler stopped to say at one point.

Yes, Mama Sandler. We’re all happy. And sad to see Letterman go next week. He’ll retire after 33 years in late-night TV following the May 20 broadcast of Late Show with David Letterman on CBS.
