Nashville StandUp’s comedians set new world record for continuous show at 184 hours, 16 minutes

Congrats go out to all of the Nashville comedians and stand-ups who dropped in while visiting the Wild West Comedy Festival last weekend, as Nashville StandUp’s “Broken Record Comedy Show” indeed broke the Guinness Book of World Records and set a new mark for Longest Stand-Up Comedy Show — Multiple Comedians.

Their effort lasted 184 hours and 16 minutes, ending on purpose at 4:20 a.m. on April 20, 2015.

Co-producers DJ Buckley and Chad Riden bookended the record-long showcase, which had begun at 12:04 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, at The East Room.

The previous record was 80 hours, held by The Laugh Factory in Hollywood since 2010.

Participants included plenty of locals, plus drop-in sets from Hannibal Buress, Rory Scovel, Al Jackson, Eric Andre, Nate Bargatze, Keith Alberstadt, Ahmed Ahmed, Killer Beaz and Jon Reep.

“I want to do this again next year,” said Riden. “I think we have to. I want to break our own record by five minutes just to show that we know how silly and pointless this all is.”
