HBO’s 4/20 gift to Vimeo’s “High Maintenance” is a six-episode TV series order

Gizmodo has called High Maintenance “the greatest show not on television.”

Not anymore.

HBO ordered a six-episode run of the Vimeo webseries on Monday — April 20, aka 4/20, aka the high holy day for stoners — to follow the adventures of a friendly Brooklyn pot dealer.

High Maintenance has proven to be one of today’s most highly-acclaimed online comedies,” said HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo. “We are thrilled to bring this sophisticated and clever series to our HBO audience.”

“We have been growing this show organically for three years now, and we are elated to bring it into full maturity at HBO, the gold-standard of both online and televised entertainment,” said Katja Blichfeld and Ben Sinclair, who created, wrote, executive produced and starred in the series.

They’ve already won a WGA award for their episode “Rachel.”

In addition to presenting new episodes, HBO will also make the previous 19 episodes, which originally debuted on Vimeo, available later this year on HBO, HBO NOW and HBO GO.

Or you can go ahead and watch them now, on Vimeo:

High Maintenance is produced by Janky Clown Productions; executive produced by Katja Blichfeld, Russell Gregory and Ben Sinclair; directed by Blichfeld and Sinclair; cast by Blichfeld; edited by Sinclair.
