FOX announces summer debut of game show Boom!, hosted by Tom Papa, plus return of Jeff Foxworthy’s Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

FOX has announced its summer programming plans for 2015, which include the return of one game show and debut of another, both of which are hosted by stand-up comedians.

Tom Papa will host the new primetime game show, Boom!, that’s based on an Israeli format — it’s a quiz show in which teams of three players defuse “ticking slime-bombs” by cutting the wires that correspond to the correct answers. It’s an hourlong show and will air at 8 p.m. Eastern/Pacific, Thursday nights starting June 25, 2015.

Jeff Foxworthy, meanwhile, is back as host of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, which originally debuted on FOX back in 2007. The basic premise remains the same — adults (sometimes celebrities, sometimes not) match wits with elementary school students over general knowledge to see how much the grown-ups remember. It’ll return to primetime at 8 p.m. Eastern/Pacific, Tuesday nights starting May 26, 2015.
