French comedian Dieudonne M’bala M’bala, whose comedy frequently takes a dramatically anti-Semitic turn, was arrested once again by French officials — this week for allegedly condoning terrorists.
Diedonne had written on Facebook, “je me sens Charlie Coulibaly,” combining the first name of the French satirical magazine where shooters killed at least 12 people, along with the last name of a guy who shot up a Kosher market afterward.
Jon Stewart tried to make sense of it all, as well as give the French some perspective on how comedy and freedom of expression should work, in Wednesday’s episode of The Daily Show on Comedy Central. WWJLD? Exactly. What would Jerry Lewis do?
