The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore names first correspondents: Shenaz Treasury, Ricky Velez, Mike Yard

The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore named its first correspondents, just shy of a week before Wimore and company assume their late-night slot on Comedy Central, airing 11:30 p.m. Eastern/Pacific Mondays-Thursdays after The Daily Show with Jon Stewart beginning Monday, Jan. 19, 2015.

They are Shenaz Treasury, Ricky Velez and Mike Yard.

Shenaz Treasury began her career with MTV Asia while still a teen and starred in the biggest Bollywood hit of 2011 in India, Delhi Belly, as Shenaz Treasurywala. Around that time, she immigrated to the U.S., and has hosted, written and produced the Travel Channel series, Culture Shock.

Ricky Velez is a stand-up comedian, born and raised in Queens, who just won the 2014 title of New York’s Funniest at the annual contest held during the New York Comedy Festival. Comedy Central also named him one of its “Comics to Watch,” so they’re definitely following through on that prophecy!

Mike Yard is a NYC-based stand-up comedian, originally from St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, who can be found hosting shows at The Comedy Cellar and elsewhere in the city when he’s not headlining clubs across the country. Previously, he won Comedy Central’s “Get Up Stand Up” online competition, and has appeared on Inside Amy Schumer and Live at Gotham, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, as well as The Apollo Comedy Hour and BET’s Comic View.

Congrats to all three! Get ready to see a lot more of them on your TV in 2015!
