Kabir Singh wins 2014 San Francisco Comedy Competition

If not for the San Francisco Giants returning to the World Series, I might not have remembered to check up on the annual San Francisco Comedy Competition.

It’s not as if the Bay Area’s once-prestigious monthlong comedy contest even wants us to know who won, or who even competed. The San Francisco Comedy Competition website is of little help updating us. Facebook or bust?

Kabir Singh still gets the prize money for winning, though. Congrats Kabeezy!

Singh, a Fremont resident, beat out fellow local Kurt Weitzmann as well as interlopers Lars Callieou, Dan Gabriel and John McClellan.

This year’s order of finish:

  1. Kabir Singh
  2. Dan Gabriel
  3. Lars Callieou
  4. John McClellan
  5. Kurt Weitzmann

Singh toured Europe and India in 2012, and last year, earned his first major TV credit on a Starz stand-up showcase.

Here he was just last month performing at San Francisco’s 35th annual Comedy Day in Golden Gate Park. Roll the clip!
