Saturday Night Live rebroadcasting “Vintage” SNL episodes at 10 p.m. Saturdays for 40th anniversary season 2014-2015

Last year, NBC doubled-up on Saturday Night Live by rebroadcasting the condensed version of recent repeat in the 10 p.m. (Eastern/Pacific) hour before new episodes of SNL at 11:30.

This year, to celebrate SNL’s 40th anniversary season, the network instead will dig into the archives to rerun hour-long editions of classic episodes.

It kicks off this Saturday (Sept. 27) with the Richard Pryor episode from the inaugural 1975-1976 season, which included musical guest Gil Scott-Heron and an all-time classic “word association” job interview sketch between Pryor and Chevy Chase.

On Oct. 4, 2014, the 10 p.m. ET/PT hour on NBC will rebroadcast an episode from Season 25 with host Christopher Walken and musical guest Christina Aguilera.
