Just For Laughs releasing old Gala clips from Canadian TV for the rest of us to see on YouTube

Marc Maron jokingly wondered this summer if anyone ever had looked him up after seeing him on TV in Canada via one of the many comedy “Galas” produced each summer by Montreal’s Just For Laughs.

Joke no more.

Especially since some media reports described JFL’s new YouTube Channel as releasing “unseen clips.” Hey, Canadians have eyeballs, too! I’ve seen them! At least, I think those were eyeballs.

At any rate.

JFL and Maker Studios have upgraded the JFL presence on YouTube in a majorly #TBT way. The channel debuted yesterday with eight classic videos — featuring Mitch Hedberg, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, Louis C.K., Bill Burr, Tracy Morgan and Bill Hicks — dating anywhere from 1987 to 2004.

Three videos will be added to the queue each week. Eventually, you’ll also be able to see more footage, both from TV and unaired material, shot during JFL fests.

Here are those first videos. Roll the clips!
