Poor Comedians In A Car Getting Coffee debuts with guest Kevin Hines

For everyone who argues that Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee exists only for and by the rich and famous, there finally is an alternative from the alternative comedy community.

Meet “Poor Comedians In A Car Getting Coffee.”

It’s a parody, yes, but also very real, as UCB performers Kristen Bartlett and Jason Gore interview comedians who are just starting out in New York City. Not that that’s true of their first guest, however. Kevin Hines is not only a UCB performer and improviser (The Curfew, The Brothers Hines) but also a teacher. “Poor Comedians In A Car Getting Coffee” is not sponsored by Toyota, but they still have this 2003 Toyota Echo and it works and so they’ll drive it through the snow to pick up Hines and take him out for a drink and a chat. Illustrator Matt Czap also stops by to draw Hines into a cartoon.
