Cathy Ladman jokes about her anorexia in stand-up and panel on Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson

Cathy Ladman has brought her life-long struggle with anorexia to her stand-up, both in a new one-woman show, “Does This Show Make Me Look Fat?”, as well as her most recent stand-up performance Friday night on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Ladman not only performed a set but also sat with Ferguson for panel chat.

Ferguson asked if Ladman felt anorexia was an addiction or a disorder. Ladman said it’s classified the latter. But she agreed with Ferguson’s suggestion that perfectionism is a manifestation of self-hatred, too. “I’m nuts,” Ladman said. To which Ferguson replied: “It’s nuts, but at least you’ve turned it into something marketable that you can use on television. And I know how you feel!”
