How To: Audition for Last Comic Standing 9 on NBC in 2015

Ladies and gentlemen, it may be two weeks too early to declare a winner in the eighth season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing.

But as you watch the final five finalists face off in stand-up competitions over the next three Thursdays, you may be thinking to yourself: How can I get in on this competition?

Easy answer: Gmail.

NBC already renewed Last Comic for a ninth season to air in summer 2015 — and just like this year, there will be no open-call auditions at comedy clubs across America. Top comedians will make it to the judges and our TV screens by invitation only. While many of those men and women will be pre-screened through executive producers Wanda Sykes and Page Hurwitz (and their Push It Productions), there is a chance for you to nominate yourself or a beloved funny friend, too.

Please email a link to your website and/or stand-up videos to lastcomicstanding9@gmail.com.

“Believe it or not, that’s how Nikki Carr and Jimmy Shubert contacted us last year,” Hurwitz told The Comic’s Comic. “So, we do actually read the emails.”

Let’s just repeat that: Two of the Top 10 finalists this season made it onto the show via email submission.

Carr is still standing, too, pictured above with the other Top 5 contestants: Lachlan Patterson, Rocky LaPorte, Rod Man and Joe Machi.

Hurwitz also teased that Last Comic Standing 9 “might be making some more improvements to the format.”

Stay tuned!

  1. BRIEF PRESENTATION

My name is Tom Vrlič and I’m from Slovenia, which is a part of the former Yugoslavia. I’m a comedian. Last year, I attended the stand-up comedy competition on our national television. I was chosen among seven other comedians. It was elimination competition (quarter-finals – semi-finals – finals). When the chief editor heard my stand up, he canceled the competition, and immediately declared me the overall winner. He offered me a spot on the show every Sunday at 8 pm, on the 1st national TV program. I have hundreds of comic ideas and scenarios for funny stories.
Since our country is a small one with a population of 2.000.000, I would like to perform abroad.
For starters, I am sending you a brief stand – up demo.

  2. Dear Last Comic Standing Management,

For countless years I have been a tremendous fan of Barbara Carlyle. Her ingenious delivery and amazing stage presence has captivated audiences for nearly three decades. She’s has literally kept us laughing for a lifetime. It would be more than beneficial to have her be a part of The Last Comic Standing Season 9. Her enthusiasm, charismatic personality and genuine love for her craft is a much needed addition to any venue fortunate enough to have her. As a fan, I’d tune in at anytime and anyplace to watch her perform. She has delivered consistently for years. I hope she is afforded the opportunity to grace us all with her presence during Season 9. Many thanks in advance!

    Respectfully,

  3. I just want to be on the show with my sets! No brown crown here! Redneck comedian but I don’t do cable!!! I’m me! #truesouth moonshine sipping true story telling redneckisims at its best! Point blank good at my improv and fast on the draw to southern fry whoever! #roast you pick it I’ll stick it!!

  4. Barbara Caryle should be considered a participant on the Season 9 Last Comic Standing. Ms. Caryle is among the remnant of seasoned comedians who have paved the way for others. She supports other rising comedians, and she is an active supporter in her and others community. Comedians like Caryle should be given the opportunity to demonstrate their craft, comedic, and artistry skills. I and those in my community, as well as surrounding communities, would love to see the South represented by this witty, sharp, and charismatic young lady. We look forward to seeing Caryle on season 9 episodes, thanks in advance!

  5. Barabar Caryle should be your first comedian you pick for season 9 of last comic standing. She has been making the world laugh for many years. This is a female comedian that want let you down when it comes to laughter. Thanks and be blessed

  7. I believe Barbara Carlyle is garbage. Please don’t include her in any discussions of comedy of being funny! Thanks!

  8. Please can you tell me the deadline for videos to be sent of a stand up comic? I know it says the show returns this summer ,but when are auditions over? Thanks!

    1. You’re too late. Sorry. I already posted months ago that the show was in production and had winnowed the field of contestants down to 100. There’s always next year?

  9. Hi my name is Mike Salas I would love to audition for last comic standing. I have an interesting background. After a nearly 30 year career in Law Enforcement (Please check out my website) Besides the info. I just eluded to I’m a cancer survivor who has taken advantage of my new lease on life.Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.

  10. I know, I know I’m late, in fact I am so late that I could be a part of LCS history. A comic who never knows when the right time to audition is. Or a procrastanater who puts off and then for whatever reason no internet. I want to audition in the 100’s people so if I don’t make it for LCS some one else might want me. LOL Season 10 if you do come on please let me audition. My name is Terry Obrien COD aka Comedy on Delivery

  11. Hi here is something I would like to share with the fans of Last Comic Standing season 8 I tried writing to you and then the end of April (which I was told was also too late) all of a sudden the show gets put on hold. Not for long it’s back on, story of my life started out too late in life, to be a comic but I am not quitting, no agent. I am hoping I can wait until I find out if I am any good or not before I get one.

  12. Well, I should have done this years ago, but life got in the way!!!!! People say that I am funny and I need to be somewhere other than a dead end job OOPs , I don’t have that dead end job anymore HAHA . Ok where and when is the dead line, and do I have to send a viedo of myself. Did I miss the cutoff date?? I hope not!!!

  13. Hey last comic standing well I would be lying if I told you I am still a wanna-bee comic I am now a sit- down-comic have chair will follow. Please let me know when we can send in a video for the next round of auditioneers. If you have a list of auditions alert put me on the list. ComedyOn Delivery aka wanna-bee-sit-down-comic(have chair will follow) Terry Obrien

  14. Just being doing stand up for an lil bit just love tell jokes makeing people happy im more of a story tell i talk about my life

  15. I’m a comedian of 7 years. I began my comedy life at the world famous improv. I worked with the improv for almost 4 an half years. My former Manger Dan Godfrey gave me a chance to pursue comedy. For that I owe him everything. I have done everything to not loose the burning desire to make people. I’ve became homeless and still is currently. I live in a shelter in Downtown L.A. in the heart of skid row. I’ve put myself on the road a few years ago to sharpen my comedy chops. I’m currently in a state of confusing rather to give up on comedy all together or keep the dream alive. I write this with the hope that someone will give me a chance to shine among my comedian peers. Thanks for your time L.C.S.
