Lewis Black to let his fans get in on his act with live interactive event: The Rant Is Due

Lewis Black‘s most recent one-hour special, Old Yeller: Live at the Borgata, arrived first to fans last summer live via pay-per-view before EPIX distributed it to cable subscribers in May.

Black is staying ahead of the interactive curve with his live shows this weekend in Napa, Calif., incorporating questions not only from fans in the live audience but also those watching online.

The Rant Is Due: A Live Interactive Comedy Event, will stream live July 11-12 from the Napa Valley Opera House, “free” to F.U.C.K.U fan club Members (Frustrated Union of Cynical Kindreds Universal), and $10 to non-members who pay for a Weekend Pass.

The weekend pass includes:

  • Access from Noon EDT Friday July 11 to Midnight Sunday July 13 to the Lewis Black The Rant Is Due-Live Interactive streaming site.
  • View the Live Streams for both shows from City Winery in Napa July 11-12, as well as replays, and selected past shows
  • The ability to submit suggestions for rants or questions for Lewis, either before the shows or while you watch the live stream.

That last one is the kicker.

You can submit your requests online during the hour to see if Black, 65, wants to rant about the same things you do.

Friend and fellow comedian Kathleen Madigan will moderate the online forum to steer requests Black’s way.

“It’s true improv. As the show grows, our ability to connect with audiences away from the theater will expand more,” Benjamin Brewer, Stark Raving Black Productions executive producer, told Variety.

Later this month, Black will be heading north to Montreal to bring “The Rant is Due” to the annual Just For Laughs festival where he delivered the keynote address in 2010.
