Tracy Morgan and Jeffrey Millea upgraded to fair condition in recovery from Turnpike crash; Ardie Fuqua remains critical

Some encouraging news last night from New Jersey, where Tracy Morgan and his assistant, Jeffrey Millea, both were upgraded to fair condition by hospital officials.

Morgan’s publicist, Lewis Kay, said: “His personality is certainly starting to come back as well.”

Wish I had better news to share about Ardie Fuqua, though. Hospital officials at Robert Wood in New Brunswick said Fuqua remained in critical condition Monday night.

And TMZ continued to exploit video footage of bystanders pulling Fuqua’s body from the wreckage of a deadly crash from the early morning of June 8 along the New Jersey Turnpike — despite protests from Fuqua’s daughter and many thousands of others asking TMZ to take down the footage. The crash occurred when Walmart tractor-trailer driver Kevin Roper rear-ended the limo van that was transporting Morgan, his assistant and three other comedians back from a gig in Delaware. James McNair, aka Jimmy Mack, died at the scene. Harris Stanton was treated and released with minor injuries.

Comedians Rick Younger and Marc Theobald — who regularly also tour and write with Morgan’s crew but were not on that trip — shared their remembrances of Jimmy Mack.

  1. Praying for you Ardie. I taught at OLV when you were there. Everyone called me Mrs. De. Please keep me informed of his condition. God Bless Ardie.
