Comedy Central’s third season of The Half Hour, its solo stand-up showcase series, kicks off this Friday night — and this morning, the network sneaked us all a peek at all 14 comedians to come this summer. If you missed it on the TV, you can watch The Half Hour season three preview here.
Native New Yorkers Chris Distefano and Michael Che get the ball rolling this Friday.
Chris Distefano already is on your TVs plenty this spring via MTV2’s Guy Code and Off The Bat. He spoke with The Comic’s Comic about that. Here are some clips of his performance, and a behind-the-scenes interview in which he jokes about his past day jobs.
Distefano enjoys his new job, though! And his status as a longtime Bushwick Brooklyn resident, which makes him, in his words, an “original white gangster.”
And here is his revelation about fighting over pistachio ice cream, with a 9-year-old.
Michael Che is this week’s cover subject of The Village Voice, profiled by friend of the site Julie Seabaugh. Che also makes his first appearance tonight in his new gig as correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
The Comic’s Comic profiled Che back in the day in our Meet Me In New York series. Check that out. Now check this out!
Che jokes in this clip about the hospitable racists he encountered in the South.
As he gets older, Che also tries to enjoy sex.
The rest of The Half Hour schedule, with back-to-back specials at midnight Fridays, taking the night off for Fourth of July. Look for extra sneak peeks and more from The Comic’s Comic each week!
