“Stephen Colbert” says goodbye to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (again)

Stephen Colbert made his triumphant appearance Tuesday on Late Show with David Letterman as Letterman’s heir-in-waiting.

On Wednesday, “Stephen Colbert” returned to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart to say goodbye once more. “It’s become clear I won television. At this point I’m just running up the score,” the fake Colbert told the real Stewart. “You see, Jon, almost nine years ago I promised to change the world. And together, I did it!” Although The Daily Show didn’t toast Colbert’s departure from their fake-news show to his own with The Colbert Report, much like they do for other correspondent goodbyes, Colbert was here to correct the record.
