Jordan Klepper joins Comedy Central’s The Daily Show as regular correspondent

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart has a new correspondent, and his name is Jordan Klepper.

Klepper files his first on-air report tonight, “live” from “Ukraine.”

And here that is/was!

Comedy Central’s news parody program lost two correspondents late in 2013 to other shows — Al Madrigal is co-starring in NBC’s new midseason sitcom, About A Boy, while John Oliver will host his own weekly comedy series, Last Week Tonight, starting Sundays in April on HBO.

Klepper, from Kalamazoo, Mich., most recently was seen Friday nights at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre as a new member of the top-flight improv team, The Stepfathers. He had moved to NYC from Chicago, where he trained and performed at both Improv Olympic and The Second City, and served as a correspondent for the real Big Ten Network’s Friday Night Tailgate. Other TV credits included MTV’s I Just Want My Pants Back and IFC’sBunk.

With his life and comedy partner, wife Laura Grey, he has produced live sketch shows such as “Baggage” and a pilot presentation, Engaged, which featured at the New York Television Festival. It’s now online.

Their latest short film, “Peepers,” will premiere this weekend at SXSW.

Klepper joins Samantha Bee, Jason Jones, Aasif Mandvi and Jessica Williams on “The Best F*&#ing News Team Ever!” as part of The Daily Show‘s regular full-time correspondent team.

Klepper is repped by Kirsten Ames Management and Fred Hashagen at Paradigm.
