Comedy Central again offering development deal via New York Television Festival

If you feel like you’re missing out on pilot season, do not lose all hope.

Comedy Central once again is putting out $7,500 and a potential development deal in the waters for writers and producers through a contest via The New York Television Festival.

If you’ve got a scripted-comedy format to pitch that can be classified as:

  • Sketch
  • Narrative/single-camera sitcom
  • Animated
  • “Late Night” comedy (game shows, panel shows, etc.)

Then give it a shot!

Independent creators are invited to submit for the Comedy Central Development Deal prize through the NYTVF. Check out the fest’s submission info page to see how to qualify. All independently produced TV and digital pilots (no matter the genre) are welcomed through the Independent Pilot Competition until June 27, 2014. Note: NYTVF projects named “Official Selections” in 2014 will be eligible for consideration by Comedy Central.
