Stephen Colbert has Scott Thompson’s “Buddy Cole” reporting on the Sochi Olympics

In the parallel universe of “Stephen Colbert,” he attended theater camp with Buddy Cole and later hired him as a producer for The Colbert Report.

We know better, that Buddy Cole is a longtime character of Kids in the Hall’s Scott Thompson, and a perfect person to report on the anti-gay Russian propaganda that’s become a political thorn in the side of the Winter Olympics in Sochi. Colbert and Comedy Central have Thompson’s Cole filing reports all week.

On Monday night’s show, Buddy Cole spoke with U.S. Ambassador Dan Baer.

Tonight, it’s speed-skating? “From Russia With Love (But No Gay Stuff!).”
