“Oh, Everything!” W. Kamau Bell hits the road for solo stand-up comedy tour in 2014

The late-night TV wars may be bracing for another round of battles without W. Kamau Bell in the fight in February 2014, but that just means there’s a much better chance for you to experience and enjoy Bell’s “Totally Biased” sense of humor in a hometown near you.

Bell is hitting the road for his first solo stand-up tour since FX moved Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell to FXX and then off the airwaves late in 2013.

His “Oh, Everything!” tour kicks off March 12 in Bloomington, Ind., and continues through the spring across the country, with tickets going on sale today for fan-club members, Wednesday for the general public.

Over the past couple of years, Bell had been performing “Totally Biased” stand-up shows with his many talented writers. As he told The Comic’s Comic, this 2014 tour is all about Bell, and getting back to basics:

“This is an old-fashioned, one person, one microphone, and a lot of opinions stand-up comedy tour. No screens. No correspondents. I am excited, nervous, and look forward to returning to the intimacy of stand-up comedy. Everyday I get emails, tweets, and Facebook posts, where people tell me that they miss the show and want more of it. Well, as of right now, the best way to get some of that flavor is for me to come directly to you. Get on your feet, get in your car, get on the bus and let’s do this the old fashioned way.”

Bell said they’re still working on lining up more dates and cities for the tour.

Why “Oh, Everything!”? “I named the tour ‘Oh, Everything!’ because I’ve literally become exhausted trying to come up with new ways to express frustration with the world,” Bell said. “‘Oh, Republicans!’ ‘Oh, congress!’ ‘Oh, President Obama!’ ‘Oh, racists!’ ‘Oh, more racists!’ ‘Oh, American unemployment!’ ‘Oh, my unemployment!’ ‘Oh, my mixed race kid!’ ‘Oh, homophobes!’ ‘Oh, Twitter!’ ‘Oh, slavery movies!’ ‘Oh, Fox News!’ ‘Oh, Chris Christie’s chances to be president!’ ‘Oh, Richard Sherman-haters!’… ‘Oh, Everything!'”

Oh, my.

Bell and his Totally Biased staff also received some good news over the weekend, as he was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Talk Show Episode for the episode featuring an interview with Orange Is The New Black’s Laverne Cox.

A fan-club pre-sale through www.wkamaubell.com begins today except for Miami, FL, where the fan-club pre-sale will begin Wednesday. Tickets for the Miami show go on sale to the general public Friday — tickets for all other shows go on sale to the general public Wednesday. All tickets are available at www.wkamaubell.com.
