Famous people nominated in “comedy” and “musical” categories in 2013 by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association #GoldenGlobes

Award season kicks into high-profile gear this morning with the announcement of the star-studded Golden Globes nominations by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

It’s star-studded because the foreign press loves to recognize and honor the most famous movie and TV people, invite them to gather and feast in one room together in January, then televise it live to the world. Happy happy joy joy. Sometimes even if said stars haven’t starred in anything worth honoring.

Either way, at least Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will make great hosts, live on NBC on Jan. 12, 2014. Here is their first promo video for it!

The 71st annual Golden Globes, then, ladies and gentlemen.

And here are your nominees in the “comedy” and “musical” categories. Make of this what you will, having the knowledge you have of everything that is right in the world and everything that is true in the real world.

No Anchorman 2, no The World’s End, nor even This Is The End nor The Heat among the movie comedies recognized. I mean, really now. In a world without Hollywood’s foreign press, I’d rather live in Lake Bell’s In A World.
