Charlie Murphy on The Arsenio Hall Show

Charlie Murphy and Arsenio Hall go way back — of course, Arsenio co-starred in multiple movies with Charlie’s brother, Eddie, during the 1980s — so when Charlie performed stand-up on Wednesday night’s episode of The Arsenio Hall Show, he also spent some time on the sofa doing panel with the late-night TV host.

Charlie Murphy revealed that he only really tried his hand at stand-up comedy in his 40s, after Chappelle’s Show had ended and the rest of the cast went out on the road. Before that experience, he had worked as Eddie’s security guy.

Last night’s gig went much better than his first time onstage doing stand-up many years earlier, as he recalled now. Maybe because now, Charlie Murphy can incorporate a Shaq impersonation.

Roll the clips.
