Too Close For Comfort: Adam Scott’s “Greatest Event in TV History” tribute for Adult Swim

Look, nobody will argue that Too Close For Comfort was one of the greatest shows in TV history, let alone a very good sitcom in the early 1980s.

But nobody is here to argue that, anyhow.

And if Too Close For Comfort had not existed, would any of us have learned the alternate spelling of Jim as expressed by the one and currently only Jm. J. Bullock?

So here we are. Once more into the breaches of Adult Swim for Adam Scott’s latest Greatest Event in TV History special, recreating the intro to Too Close, shot-for-shot, with help from Jon Glaser, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Chelsea Peretti, Jason Mantzoukas on board as the “director,” and another belabored beleagured introduction from Jeff Probst.

The original aired on ABC from 1980 to 1983, then another three seasons in syndication. It starred Ted Knight, Nancy Dussault, Lydia Cornell, Deborah Van Valkenburgh and Bullock.

Watch the whole thing on Adult Swim. (sorry, no embeds!)
