David Letterman has co-authored a humor book satirizing the One Percent, “This Land Was Made For You and Me (But Mostly Me)”

David Letterman already knows he makes megamillions each year hosting Late Show with David Letterman on CBS. But that wealth hasn’t quite gone to his head in all of the bad ways.

Letterman, with friend and writer/illustrator Bruce McCall, have published a new book that satirizes the richest one percent and their excess wealth, “This Land Was Made For You and Me (But Mostly Me): Billionaires in the WIld.”

McCall appeared on Late Show last night with Letterman. They displayed and discussed images such as a ski lodge that has its own skis to shoot down the mountain, a fireplace so large it has its own fire department, a miniature golf course at the Galapagos Islands, an airplane runway that’s inside a man’s mansion, and more.

Roll the clip!

As Letterman told Dave Itzkoff of The New York Times, he understands the joke is on him.

“I would make fun of myself, first and foremost, in this equation,” he said. “I think you’re allowed to make fun of dopes, whether they’re dopes with too much money or dopes in Congress.”
