Just For Laughs Radio launches on SiriusXM

Canada’s worldwide brand, Just For Laughs, now can beam audio funny ha-has your way around the clock via satellite radio, as its new Just For Laughs Radio channel debuted today on SiriusXM.

If you’re a SiriusXM subscriber, you can find Just For Laughs Radio at Ch. 403.

In addition, the longstanding Raw Dog Comedy Channel will broadcast an hourlong version of JFL funnies weeknights at 9 p.m. Eastern.

“We are thrilled to expand our audiences with this exciting new opportunity with SiriusXM,” said Bruce Hills, COO of Just For Laughs. “We couldn’t be happier that audiences across North America will finally get a chance to hear some incredible comedy from our vast library over the last 30 years.”

Think of any comedian who performed at Montreal’s JFL over the past 30 years, and you could soon be listening to his or her performances from the festival’s vast archives, from Galas to New Faces and everything in between. Well, everything they’d already previously recorded, of course.

“The Just For Laughs Festival’s international reach and rich archive of standup material is a valuable addition to our Comedy offering,” said SiriusXM President and COO Scott Greenstein. “Just For Laughs joins our unmatched lineup of comedy channels which includes the leading names in comedy.”

The launch coincides with JFL42 in Toronto this week, simulcasting on Raw Dog afternoons through Sunday, then also during the Sydney festival from Oct. 18-20, with live interviews from the fests, panel discussions and more.
