Nirvana reissues “In Utero” for 20th anniversary with #TBT 1993 commercial featuring Bobcat Goldthwait

Holy Throwback Thursdays!

Nirvana just re-released a 1993 TV commercial for the band’s “In Utero” album — which featured comedian Bobcat Goldthwait in drag, teaching Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and the late Kurt Cobain about childbirth.

As Goldthwait noted on his Instagram account today for #tbt, “In honor of the 20th anniversary of In Utero the commercial I’m in with the Nirvana’s for the release of the album has been re-released on the interwebs. Check it out, its a little weird. #nirvana #bobcatindrag”

In related news: Sub Pop Records, which released Nirvana’s first album, “Bleach,” is hosting its 25th anniversary Sub Pop Silver Jubliee this weekend in Seattle. Sub Pop’s comedy portion of the jubilee happens Friday night, “Silver Jubil-eve: A 25th Anniversary Comedy Thing (for Charity!) at the Moore Theatre,” hosted by Eugene Mirman with performances from Marc Maron, Jon Benjamin, Kristen Schaal, & Kurt Braunohler.
