Showtime hits the road this summer with Tig Notaro for fan-picked stand-up tour, documentary

Tig Notaro is hitting the road this summer for a very special stand-up comedy tour.

Just how special?

“Showtime is going to be filming my tour this summer, beginning in early August,” Notaro says in this clip uploaded yesterday from Seal Beach, Calif. “And we’re looking for venues for me to perform in. So if you’d like for me to be on your rooftop, your basement, backyard, living room, garage, in your barn. You tell me where I’m going.”

The tour/documentary will be called Knock Knock, It’s Tig Notaro — executive produced by Notaro, along with Ken Druckerman and Banks Tarver, with Christopher Wilcha and Michael LaHaie as co-executive producers.

Notaro also is a writer and featured player for Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer, which airs its first-season finale tonight.

Roll the clip!

Now here’s the details…straight from TigRoadTrip.com, where Notaro and Showtime wants you to submit your requests online:

Are you a fan of the comedian TIG NOTARO? Are you interested in hosting a private Tig Notaro performance – in your very own home? At the beginning of August, Tig will be traveling across the country in order to put on a series of private comedy performances in the homes, back yards, driveways, and cul-de-sacs of her most loyal fans. The performances will be filmed as part of a documentary that is being produced for SHOWTIME.

Do you want to host one of these shows? If so, we want to hear from you! We want to know who you are and where you live, we want to know who you would invite to the show, and we want you to tell us why you would be the ideal host for a Tig Notaro performance. Finally, we want to know where you would ask Tig to perform; all ideas are welcome! Tig is game to play in barns, in basements, on rooftops, in living rooms. Or at a back yard BBQ, or a dysfunctional family reunion, or even a Friday night open bar on your front porch. Tig will pick her favorite locations, hit the road, and put on a great show.

To be considered for the show, you must click on the link below, review and agree to the terms and conditions, and then complete a short questionnaire. It’s easy!

THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK!
