Go Behind Amy Schumer before going Inside Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer’s new sketch comedy series, Inside Amy Schumer, debuts tonight on Comedy Central — though you already could have watched the premiere episode online (and uncensored) thanks to the cable channel.

But first, get to know a little about what you’re about to see from the people who are bringing it to you.

“I don’t think I’m better than anyone else,” Schumer says to the camera in the opening moments of the webseries “Behind Amy Schumer” for CC:Studios. “I just think I’m like funnier and that my pussy is magic.”

We meet Schumer and her behind-the-scenes crew when the first season wrapped back in January 2013. There’s director Neal Brennan (co-creator of Chappelle’s Show) raising Schumer’s hand in celebration as head writer Jessi Klein stands behind her. “Amy has a way of being very dirty and also very vulnerable, that is actually quite fuckable and funny,” Klein said. “She would prefer I say fuckable than funny. All women would.”

Episode 2 takes us inside her writers’ room, with Klein plus Kurt Metzger, Tig Notaro, Kyle Dunnigan, Gabe Leidman

Today’s third installment of “Behind Amy Schumer” finds her and her sister, Kim, traveling to Las Vegas to try out material.

So now you’re more than ready, right?

Whether you tune in to Tosh.0 first or not, just jump right into the debauchery that exists in the mind of Amy Schumer and now exists on your TV (or computer or mobile phone) screen.

Inside Amy Schumer indeed jumps right into it. Before our first title sequence of several showing the city whirring past Schumer in various moods, we see her innocence shatter in a casting session that explains what would become the viral video for “Two Girls, One Cup.” There are bits of stand-up and person-on-the-street interviews, but they’re meant as neither filler or introductions to sketches. It’s all just designed to be funny. And raunchy. And racy. The debut episode includes a dual-screen portrait of the very different next-day reactions to a one-night stand, a spoof of the Biography series “I Survived…” called “I Endured…” and a segment called “Amy Goes Deep” in which she finds out what a model’s life is like. Comedians Sara Schaefer, Ted Alexandro, Michael Showalter, Rob Lathan, Sasheer Zamata, Emily Heller all make appearances in the debut.

It’s raunchy, it’s racy, and it’s really quite funny.

I’m looking forward to get more of a look inside Inside Amy Schumer.
