An invitation from the My Damn Channel Comedy Network

My business associates, colleagues and friends at My Damn Channel have an announcement to make.

They have launched the My Damn Channel Comedy Network.

What does that mean? And what does that mean for you?

For My Damn Channel, it means founder and CEO Rob Barnett has hired Eric Mortensen, the former senior director of content and programming at Blip, to direct My Damn Channel’s programming and acquisitions. The plan for 2013: Add hundreds of new series and performers to MyDamnChannel.com and its series of YouTube channels.

“For the past six years, we’ve worked with some of the best talent in the world, who will continue to be funded by our network, advertisers and the major media companies hiring us to produce breakthrough original comedy,” Barnett said. “We’re investing in the team and the infrastructure to make the My Damn Channel Comedy Network the first choice for fans and the right choice for talent.”

By the numbers from the press release. From 2011 to 2012, My Damn Channel grew:

  • By 300 percent in revenue;
  • By 268 percent in videos produced;
  • By 366 percent in YouTube subscribers;
  • By 550 percent in YouTube views.

Grace Helbig, one of My Damn Channel’s performers from the get-go, won two awards earlier this month at the IAWTV Awards, for Best Hosted (Taped) Series, and Best Host (Taped).

But what does this mean for you?

You can join the My Damn Channel Comedy Network and become part of the team, perhaps enjoying the same opportunities that Helbig has.

Go to My Damn Channel Comedy Network‘s landing page and follow the instructions if you’d like to submit your videos. The courtship process then may continue and eventually lead to a partnership. Content creators who receive invitations would sign non-exclusive, one-year licensing and distribution deals with My Damn Channel. In return, the company would share revenue from the video views, and provide distribution, promotion marketing and social media support to ensure more viewers view said videos.

Here are Grace Helbig and Beth Hoyt, host of My Damn Channel LIVE, with more details. Roll the clip!

And last but certainly not least, here are the new additions to the My Damn Channel Comedy Network already to kick things off right in 2013!
