Amazon Studios announced six new orders for comedy pilots to head into production for 2013. Amazon.com began soliciting original pitches for comedy series for the first time earlier this year, and has a comedy development slate of 13 projects. Among them are a few from names you’ve already heard from and seen on the TV, including Kristen Schaal, and The Onion’s Onion News Network.

Here are the six projects moving forward to the pilot stage:

Those Who Can’t

  • When a bully pushes students and faculty around, Adam, Ben and Andy take justice into their own hands.

A comedy about three juvenile, misfit teachers who are just as immature, if not more so, than the students they teach at a failing high school in Denver. Created by and starring Andrew Orvedahl, Adam Cayton-Holland and Ben Roy.

Alpha House

Four senators live together in a rented house in Washington, D.C. Created by Garry Trudeau.

Supanatural

Two outspoken divas are humanity’s last line of defense against the supernatural… when they’re not working at the mall. Created by Lily Sparks, Price Peterson and Ryan Sandoval.

Dark Minions

A workplace series set on an intergalactic spaceship, centering on two slackers just trying to make a paycheck. Created by Kevin Sussman and John Ross Bowie.

The Onion Presents: The News

A fast-paced comedy set behind the scenes of the Onion News Network showing us what journalists will do to stay at the top of their game. Created by Will Graham and Dan Mirk.
