Sing in the holidays with “Carol of the Comedians”

New York City-based comedy rock band Fortress of Attitude is halfway through a “12 Christmas Songs in 12 Days of Christmas” project called “Bigger Than Santa.”

They may have found their winner with “Carol of the Comedians,” with traditional Christmas tune having its lyrics adapted entirely to names of famous comedians. Among those paid tribute by the band in song: Dana Carvey, Dave Chappelle, Margaret Cho, Cheech and Chong, Louis CK, Andrew Dice Clay, Bill Cosby, Jeff Foxworthy, Jim Gaffigan, Eddie Griffin, Andy Kaufman, Alan King, Sam Kinison, Martin Lawrence, Norm Macdonald, Howie Mandel, Marc Maron, Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, John Oliver, Brian Posehn, Freddie Prinze, Richard Pryor, Colin Quinn, Ray Romano, Robert Schimmel, Jerry Seinfeld, Garry Shandling, Paul F. Tompkins and Robin Williams.

I’d give them even more seasonal credit if they’d included Jonathan Winters.

Please note I listed them in alphabetical order. Much more fun to hear it play out for yourself first.

So then. Roll it, enjoy it, learn it, then singalong with it.
