The Next Big Thing in Digital Comedy? A 2012 Paley Center panel

Everyone is always looking for the next big thing, and show business even more so, it seems.

For the 2012 New York Comedy Festival, the Paley Center for Media hosted a special panel designed to discuss and analyze the “Next Big Thing” with particular emphasis on digital comedy and the companies looking to make that happen as our reliance on technology and social media continues to evolve.

The Paley Center, in fact, does this every few months, hosting “Next Big Thing” showcases for tech start-ups. But for November 2012, a panel with Funny or Die CEO Dick Glover, CollegeHumor CEO Paul Greenberg and My Damn Channel CEO Rob Barnett. They talked about what they’ve been up to in the space for the past five years, and then opened it up to presentations from potential next big things Cultivated Wit, Earwolf, Laffster and WitStream.
