- HBO will air a special tribute to Mel Brooks in December. Mel Brooks Strikes Back! debuts Dec. 10, with Brooks in conversation with Alan Yentob as he looks back on his career in stage and screen.
- E! set a start date for the third Whitney Cummings TV show to hit the airwaves in the past 14 months. Love You, Mean It with Whitney Cummings premieres Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 10:30 p.m. Her weekly talk show will include celebrity guests, comedians and her sidekick, stand-up comedian Julian McCullough. It’s paired on Wednesday nights with episodes of E!’s long-running clip-show, The Soup.
- Fortune Feimster is co-writing and starring in a potential ABC half-hour, Discounted, in which she’d play one of two half-sisters running a family furniture store. It’s produced by Borderline Amazing’s Chelsea Handler, Brunelle and Brad Wollack, with Mike Pennie showrunning. Feimster is repped by Gersh, Nicole Garcia and Lev Ginsburg.
- John Ross Bowie and Kevin Sussman sold a show pitch to Amazon called Dark Minions, set on a space station. With Principato-Young.
- Growing up is hard to do, but apparently easy to sell as a sitcom concept. Two more ideas in the pile for broadcast nets: NBC is developing Grow The F**k Up, about a 36-year-old woman whose only real friend is a 20-year-old; and CBS is developing How To Grow Up, about a 30-year-old lawyer who reconnects with his inner child when he discovers a videotapes he made for himself as a kid.
- And we’ll find out if Martha has learned anything from Emeril! Martha Stewart is working on a single-cam idea for FOX called Tao of Martha, based on an upcoming book about her. BAM.
