Comedy Headlines for 10/26/12

What’s happening in the comedy world now…

  • Adam Sandler is moving his moving-pictures business from Sony to Paramount — at least for his next trick, a comedy western flick, due in cinemas in 2014.
  • Adam Carolla is joining FOX News as a contributor to Bill O’Reilly’s top-ranked cable shout-show, The O’Reilly Factor.
  • With The Office ending, every cast member on that long-running series is looking for their next deal. The latest deal is for Brian Baumgartner (Kevin), who with Greg Daniels has a new deal at ABC, for an untitled half-hour written by Harris Wittels about an airline executive.
  • The Iron Petticoat, a 1956 romantic comedy that starred Katharine Hepburn and Bob Hope, will be seen by American audiences again next month for the first time in four decades — premiering Nov. 29 on Turner Classic Movies, and also available on Blu-Ray/DVD as of Nov. 19. All of the prints and negatives had been turned over to Hope back in 1966.
