Michael Che is “The Realest Candidate”

Still undecided about the 2012 elections?

Maybe you need a hip-hop mogul to jazz up the Republican Party’s platform. Enter Michael Che, “The Realest Candidate,” the latest webseries from Above Average. This time, Che (who wrote and created this series) plays himself as a Republican strategist who also happens to be big enough in hip-hop to also be a vodka entrepreneur. Of course. Che has opinions on creating jobs — vodka companies! Government-controlled health care? Stop snitching! Foreign policy? Put ’em on a mixtape. Gay marriage. Grape rape?

In the first episode, Che appears on a cable-news talking-head show, “The Henkle Factor” (hosted by Michael Torpey), facing off against Leah Bonnema.
