Comedy Headlines for 10/19/12

What’s happening in the comedy world now…

  • Andy Samberg has found TV life after Saturday Night Live. He’s currently starring in a BBC Three series, Cuckoo, and now he’s attached to lead an untitled detective comedy pilot for FOX from Mike Schur and Dan Goor. Samberg also will have a producer credit along with Goor, Schur and 3 Arts’ David Miner.
  • ABC will attempt to adapt the BAFTA-winning BBC Two series Rev. for an American audience. The original stars Tom Hollander as a priest from a small rural parish who gets a new position in London. The American version would sub in Chicago and Wisconsin.
  • ABC also is developing Dirty Girls, a half-hour series from The Mark Gordon Co. based on on the Gillian Telling book Dirty Girls: The Naked Truth About Our Guilty Secrets.
  • FOX, meanwhile, has bought into single-cam sitcom Best Man, from Paul Ruehl, about a bachelor consoling his best friend’s wife after said so-called BFF leaves them both. Ruehl is repped by CAA. The project comes from Karen Rosenfelt’s Sunswept Entertainment.
