Big Bird appears in official ad for President Barack Obama

After Mitt Romney singled him out during the first presidential debate with Barack Obama, Big Bird has been making the rounds in a way this Sesame Street Muppet character has not seen in ages. First a slot on the Weekend Update desk of Saturday Night Live.

And now this.

President Obama has put out a new campaign ad pointing out that Romney is avoiding all of the real enemies on Wall Street and around the world, while focusing on Big Bird instead. The 8-foot-2 bird — voiced by long-time puppeteer Caroll Spinney since 1969 — has a speaking role in the commercial.

Roll it!
