Comedy Central to air election campaign TV ads blasting CNN and FOX News

Comedy Central won the battle for late-night viewers under 35 years old during the Republican and Democratic national conventions.

Now they’re looking to take it to their “real” cable news competitors with a series of TV commercials that blast them while touting Comedy Central’s “Indecision 2012” coverage — with Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert front and center with their shows, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, respectively — for the rest of the campaign through Election Day in November.

The first two spots challenge the supremacy of FOX News and CNN.

Here is the spot targeting FOX News, which singles out owner Rupert Murdoch for not being as American as his news channel purports to be. Roll it!

The spot against CNN points out that maybe you shouldn’t trust any news organization that relies on a “magic wall” for its analysis and information. Roll it!

Comedy Central publicists say more TV ads are in the offing this month and through October, so don’t get too comfy MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC, and especially you, PBS and C-SPAN!
