Cristela Alonzo’s late-night debut on Conan

Cristela Alonzo made her late-night TV debut last night on Conan. She does, however, already have other TV credits to her name, including Last Comic Standing, and stand-up showcases for Comedy Central and Showtime. Alonzo explained in last night’s set that she realizes the things she can and cannot do because of her Mexican heritage. Even if her sister is vouching for her. Gallagher tells David Letterman about his heart problems, tries to sell him on slot machine idea

David Letterman long has held a soft spot for comedians of his own generation, particularly if he was part of their circle in the Los Angeles comedy scene of the 1970s. After hearing about Gallagher’s recent health and financial problems, Letterman invited the famous watermelon-smashing prop comedian from the 1980s onto the Late Show last night.
