My Damn Channel announces plans for live YouTube channel

With a new production studio almost ready to go…My Damn Channel unveiled a new online look today and also announced its plans for My Damn Channel LIVE, a new live weekday comedy show hosted by Beth Hoyt that will debut at 4 p.m. Eastern, March 28, on YouTube.

Hoyt will interview celebrity guests, introduce new videos from the 30+ catalogue of My Damn Channel original series, and interact with the YouTube viewers live Mondays-Fridays. The Wednesday show will be a half-hour, with episodes running closer to 10 minutes on other weekdays. It’ll be executive produced by the site’s founding CEO, Rob Barnett, and run by Melissa Schneider and head writer Krister Johnson (God’s Pottery).

“The time is right to steal pages from TV’s playbook to reimagine a daily, live, hosted comedy show for the Internet,” said Barnett. “Beth Hoyt is an awesome find and a future star. Our producer, Melissa Schneider, has built an impressive team and a hot new home to showcase the original content and comedy talent we love.”

Here’s an introduction to Hoyt, by Hoyt herself. Roll the clip!

This is the part where I remind myself and you that I’m a part of the My Damn Channel blog network, so I’m excited to be a part of this as well and roll around in sweet YouTube money soon enough.

One thing I won’t be part of is another new series that’ll debut during the premier of My Damn Channel LIVE, which is the “edutainment” program, You Rock at Photoshop! So y’all just go ahead and look forward to that.
