New York magazine’s oral history of the Upright Citizens Brigade

Over the summer, Gary Rudoren (co-author of Comedy By The Numbers) told me he had a brilliant idea for another comedy book. Rudoren wanted to publish an oral history of the Upright Citizens Brigade. But he said he was too busy for it. Turns out I was too busy to get around to it myself, freelance writer Brian Raftery beat us both to it, publishing an oral history with upward of 50 famous and should-be famous comedians connected to the UCB in various capacities.

It’s published in this week’s edition of New York magazine.

“And…scene.”

Of course it’s pretty great, and yet still leaves you wanting more.
