Stephen Colbert addresses Rick Perry’s poaching of Colbert Super PAC treasurer

On last night’s episode of The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert finally addressed the strange-but-true fact that Texas Gov. Rick Perry had poached Colbert’s Colbert Super PAC treasurer to work on the Republican’s presidential campaign.

Plus, Colbert sang part of a classic 1980s ballad!

And as he noted, he’d already given an official statement on the matter to Politico.com earlier in the week, saying: “We’re not surprised. Sal is the best in the business. That’s why we went with him. We’re happy for Sal and we are even happier that Governor Parry (sic) has sent the clear signal of which super PAC he trusts to receive all that unlimited money waiting to pour in on his behalf. Loud and clear, sir. Unofficially, loud and clear.”

Just please don’t let this presidential election wind up being as cruel of a joke! Please!?!?!?

Roll the clip.
