What really happened in Albuquerque? Footage of Katt Williams addressing his audience

Kattwilliams_albuquerqueKatt Williams said he retired from stand-up comedy. So what was he doing onstage last weekend in an arena in Albuquerque, New Mexico? With a poster advertising a night of comedy with him?

Especially after Williams got arrested earlier this month for allegedly getting into it with a worker, preventing him from leaving property Williams was renting in Palmdale, Calif.? Oh, brother.

The June 25, 2011, event at Tingley Coliseum was billed as, “A Night of Comedy: Hosted and Presented by Katt Williams,” featuring AJ Johnson, Shawty Shawty and ‘a special mystery guest.’ Hmmm. OK. So. A couple of fan videos surfaced from the end of the night showing Katt Williams pacing around, with the house lights on, and doing push-ups, as one fan gives her running commentary. What does that prove?

Earlier, Williams was onstage with an all-female entourage and purportedly answering questions from the audience. Although this clip doesn’t exactly provide the answers these audience members were seeking. Roll it.

Turns out, Katt Williams has his side of the story to tell, too. As we see in this clip, Williams claims onstage that not only did the headliner — that “mystery guest”? — not show up, but apparently neither did the promoter (or the person whom Williams believed was) responsible for paying him for his appearance in New Mexico. He also mentions a police presence in the building. Hmmm. Roll that.

And in this clip, which must have been from very early, Williams has a hat and a hooded sweatshirt on, declaring himself an American instead of an African-American, talks about being from Ohio, and returning to New Mexico. More about why he considers himself an American instead of an African-American, which isn’t exactly stand-up comedy, but is something.

RE: Katt Williams Show 06/25/2011

We would like to start by explaining our position in regards to the Katt Williams Concert on June 25, 2011. We have recently been inundated by questions and requests for ticket refunds due to the lack of professionalism displayed by Mr. Williams at the recent concert. We are equally upset by the antics that were displayed for whatever personal reason Mr.Williams might be experiencing. We went above and beyond normal measures to ensure Mr.Williams was in Albuquerque and went onstage. Our expenses in doing so far exceeded our original budget and ticket sales revenues, due to the extra expense brought on by delays, over time rent on the venue, sound, labor, etc. As promoters we did our job as per our contractual obligations. We booked, paid for and promoted the show. ALL of the acts Showed up and performed. Some better than others, but they were all there and performed. We have no control over the content or quality of their performances. While we are disappointed, we feel the liability lies in the hands of Mr.Williams himself. We feel your frustration, and are in the same space financially, At a loss. So we will not be offering refunds of any kind. We are very sorry for the circumstances.

Because we are a small locally owned Promotions company we would in good faith like you to keep your Katt Williams ticket stubs for discount on a soon to be announced show we will put on in an effort to show good faith and give something to our community that were effected by Mr.Williams “Performance”. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Seems like plenty of blame to go around, as you cannot lead people to believe they’re paying for a night of comedy, presented by a comedian who has said he is retired from comedy, and not find out from the comedian if he plans to do any of the comedy that you’re charging the fans to see.

Then again, the folks at Humor Mill reported in late May that they’d seen Katt Williams live onstage at The Laugh Factory in Hollywood performing for 15 minutes, mostly talking about what was happening in his life. Of course, that was before his most recent run-in with law enforcement. And after he had Tweeted, “I’m back bitches coming soon to a city near you, stay tuned.” So the Katt Williams is-he-or-isn’t-he-retired storyline continues to remain as much of a mystery as ever.

Do you feel sympathy for Williams? Do you feel sympathy for the fans who paid to see him last weekend? Do you feel sympathy for the people who booked him?

  1. I feel Sympathy for all the entertainers like Katt who are being persecuted for choosing to NOT go with the establishment. This is what happens when you refuse to adhere to **(THEIR)** demands. It’s sad and sickening. Once an Entertainer decides to NOT sale out (soul) whatever you want to call it, then the WILD stories begin to pop up against them. The stories are always wild and unusual, out of the entertainers character, or they are constantly harassed by police. The media is saturated with negative images of the entertainer, Pictures pop up of the Entertainer looking drugged out, or drunk or just plain crazed looking. The story never ends well. They either DIE some unusual suspicious way (always very publicized). Commit suicide (also suspiciously) Murdered (suspiciously) Or they Up and walk out on some MILLION dollar deal seemingly for no reason. The public need to start reading between the lines and stop dismissing these people as CRAZY or, Crackheads or DRUNKS. They all in there (Ramblings) mention the devil, or Illuminati or some secret society in some form, or the ESTABLISHMENT fucking with them. Indirectly or directly. Wake up people and stop believing everything you hear and see in the media. LISTEN and connect the dots. MJ, DAVE Chappelle, Martin Lawrence, Prince, Anna Nicole smith, Mike Tyson, Bob Dillon, Katt Wiliams the list goes on. First they Harass them, Then they vilify them, if the person doesn’t give in they Destroy there careers. If the person fight back, they incarcerate them, if they try to expose the situation they Kill them or If they have reduced the persons credibility enough in the public eye they just leave them broke and destitute. (income tax evasion) (foreclosures) Bankruptcies, Law suits. There is a PATTERN. They all have similarities. The ones who Sale out (soul) or whatever you want to call it. Don’t ever go through this they continue to become superstars a lot of them undeserving all of a sudden, they shoot to megastardom out of the blue and you sit back and think, hmm where did this person come from, ok they are funny but not all that funny, or ok they can act but come on there are way better actors, or this person can’t sing or dance what is the big deal. But don’t get it twisted they are also at risk if they ever decided to change their minds. Some Entertainers are STRONG Dave chapelle is one prime example. This young man is a VERY intelligent person and FUNNY. Had the BIGGEST comedy show and a 50 million dollar deal on the table. Yet in the midst of it all he up and left, went to Africa, no warning no explanation. When he is asked about it, he doesn’t seem crazy or drugged up or intoxicated. He seems tired but frank about it. He seemed to be asking us to read between the lines. Yet he is smart enough not to say too much. Bless all their souls, the ones who choose to go along, the ones who choose to refuse and especially the ones who choose to fight back.

  2. I think he got paid to host and the promoters wanted him to headline. It just might be that simple.

  3. Well said. I agree totally. Every time he has been arrested it has been dismissed, or just sounded plain funky. Everybody has problems and we don’t know what his are and should not judge. Read between the lines people and use your common sense. I feel sympathy for all parties Katt, the audience and the promoters. I wanted to go but I realized before hand that hosting and presenting is not the same as a comedy show. When people HOST awards shows all they do is introduce people. Take this into account. I did. I still think he is a brilliant comic and would pay to see him if he went on tour. But I know how to read an announcement before buying tickets. Be careful not to jip yourself by not thinking for yourself. I also think that he was simply too successful and made some people feel threatened. Maybe the so called “powers that be” are trying to keep him out of comedy. Since he was retired not much happened then after the twitter post all hell broke loose. When people speak the truth then the masses always call them a liar. If I had a quarter for every story I have seen on him that sounded bogus or was retracted because it was not true then I would be rich. Don’t bash people if you don’t know their situation. I can honestly say people have had rumors against me that I’m a crackhead. Just because I lost weight. For 7 years they have said this and I don’t even know how to light any type of pipe. So don’t believe the hype. Blacklisting still goes on people just don’t hear about it. Learn to look at the big picture. Comics are the most vunerable to blacklisting because they can say what they want. If people in high places don’t like what you say then they will try and shut you up. If I could I would stand in the middle of sunset and yell at the tip of my lungs about free speech and how it is being taken away from people everyday. To Katt do what is best for you and your family. FUCK THE MASSES

  4. For those of you sticking up for Katt Williams, you probably didn’t go to the concert and get ripped off. You all are so full of shit. Believe it or not Katt is a big boy and he just a drunk and druggie like most stars and to want to plan some foolish religion or cult. PLEEEEEESE!!!!! What a bunch of idiots.

  5. Yes i agree i think he got paid for one thing and something else went down katt is a super mega star and is use to being in front of sold out crowds I was at the show and watched all the footage on you-tube and it seems one way with the lights off but when those lights where on . that big place was damn near empty nothing like the turn outs in other cities when Katt is due to be on the stage . a packed floor don’t count, not saying its all the promoters fault that the city didnt show up to support the show or maybe that is the whole city that was there..but at the same time. the promoter and how good he is is how the show will end up in the end and they messed it up badly . they should have told us hey people we are sorry but we dont want to waste anymore of your time and energy and told us to go. instead they said he is almost here he is coming out and anything they could say to keep us there waiting for hours and hours.then to look at the flyer they had and it said to host? it was a con in my eyes and a waste of my money. .this is the 2nd time i have seen him personally and the show in Atlanta did not look like this one by any means it was a lot more classy and all seated. i think the promoters may have made some wrong turns in their own business dealings prior to this event. At least from looking around and how the show went that’s what it seemed a tad GHETTO . i traveled clear across the country for this BS. …ALL of katts shows in the past are HUGE shows that go on to be on tv and dvd’s . this was not that type of quality production.great venue low budget He should have never went underground promoter with his act He should have went to one of the Casinos in the city and left the street to the streets When we went to Hard Rock where we had our hotel stay we heard people in the bar talking about how the promoter is a ex con trying to fix his life, I as a true fan felt hurt tricked and betrayed by a who are they company. The city had nothing to do with this show and I find it unfair to take from people who work hard everyday for a living fast bucks never pays off i think it backfired on them. I WANT MY MONEY BACK PURE TRICKERY

  6. READ BETWEEN THE LINES Y’ALL AND WAKE UP!!! KATT EXPOSED THE SATAN AND THEY’RE OUT TO GET HIM!
